Campground Review

Here you will see a part of Texas that most people do not know exists. The campsites are located among pine and hardwood trees and near a lake that has cypress trees growing in it. Many trees are covered with Spanish moss. The park is bounded on the north side by Caddo Lake; however, it does not look like a lake at this point. It looks more like a large river with cypress trees growing all along its bank. There are hiking trails that carry you across small streams and to structures that were built in the 1930s by the CCC Boys, using native rocks as building material.

If you like camping close to nature, you will love this campground. It is located in northeast Texas about two miles off Texas 43 near the town of Karnack. The park has full hookup campsites, cabins, fishing, boating, and an interpretive center. Spring and fall are best times to visit.
